Doug Clayville, Associate
Secretary of the General Conference
Douglas Clayville was born and raised in Oregon. He has an undergraduate degree from Walla Walla College, with a double major in religion and business, and an MBA from Andrews University. He has lived and worked in the Asia-Pacific region for more than 18 years, including several short-term assignments. He and his family have lived in nine different countries outside of their homeland. During this time he has served in various capacities including pastoral ministry, treasury, college teaching,a nd institutional and church administration. He was ordained to the ministry while serving in Korea.
Clayville and his wife Sue, have four children: Chrislyn, Caleb, Camilyn, and Cherilyn. His hobbies include hiking and camping with his family, reading, and enjoying life.
Clayville took up his assignment as Associate Secretary of the General Conference in May 2001. In this capacity he serves as liaison between the General Conference and the Northern Asia-Pacific Division, the Trans-Europen Division, and the Southern Asia Division. He recruits missionaries for interdivision service and deals with issues that involve interdivision employees in these territories, as well as serving as Secretary of the Interdivision Employee Budget Oversight Committee. |
