AGUSTIN GALICIA, ASSOCIATE SECRETARY OF THE GENERAL CONFERENCE

Agustin Galicia, a Mexican by birth, served the Church for 32 years in the inter-American Division before he was elected Associate Secretary of the General Conference in July 2000. He has been a pastor, departmental director, and local field and union president. For the last ten years he served as Secretary of the Inter-American Division with headquarters in Miami, Florida.

His hobbies are reading and travel, he speaks Spanish and English.

Galicia is married to Eucaris M Guerra and they have four children: Eucaris L, a designer at the Pacific Press; Dacyl, who is a Principal at Indianapolis Jr. Academy; Agustin, who is an Accountant, and Joel, a student.

As associate secretary, Galicia's responsibilities include assisting the division in recruiting and dealing with issues that involve interdivision employees and representing the General Conference at various meetings and church-related functions. In addition, his office serves as the general liaison for the General Conference and the Inter-American Division, the South American Division, the Euro-Asia Division, and the Euro-Africa Division.
